Charlotte time is behind India, depending on daylight saving
Charlotte keeps adding people, and every new household is a possible customer for an AC technician, plumber, electrician or roofer. If you run a home service business in Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Matthews or Huntersville, customers search on their phones when something fails, and Google Ads can put you in front of them in that moment. It only pays off if the account is built around the areas you serve and the work you want. I am Bharat Rajput, a freelance Google Ads and PPC specialist with 6+ years of experience in SEO and Google Ads and 20+ Google Ads accounts, mostly for local service businesses that depend on enquiries. I work remotely from Bhopal, India. This page explains how I would plan Google Ads for a Charlotte business and how we would work together.
Guide
A fast-growing metro
Axios, reporting Census Bureau estimates, says the Charlotte metro added 54,122 people between July 2024 and July 2025, the fifth-largest numeric gain in the country, and reached 2.9 million residents. Growth like that brings new homeowners who have no regular contractor yet, and it brings competitors too. It also pushes building into new suburbs, so the best customers for your business may be thirty minutes from where you were last year.
I would plan the account by area and travel time instead of treating the metro as one block, and I would check the location report often so spend follows the areas that bring calls.
Checklist

- Roofers and gutter specialists

If you do something else, tell me what you sell and what a typical job is worth, and I will say honestly if Google Ads is the right place to start.
Guide
Licences customers look for
The North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors states that a general contractor must hold a state licence when the total project value is $40,000 or more. North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 87 also covers electrical contractors, who answer to the State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors. If you hold the right licence, show the number on your landing page, because careful customers check. I only use claims you can prove: your licence, your years in business, your service area and real reviews.
How the work runs
How I would plan your Charlotte campaign
Start with the suburbs you serve best
Google Ads lets you target by city, ZIP code or radius, and the location report shows which areas turn clicks into calls. I would begin where you already win work, then expand when the numbers support it.
Separate emergency searches from planned work
“AC not cooling” in July needs an answer today, while “remodel estimate” starts a longer decision. Each group gets its own keywords, ads and landing page, and negative keywords are added from the start so you do not pay for DIY searches, job seekers or services you do not offer.
Plan for the hot months
Summer heat brings AC breakdowns and higher demand for installs. A good account has a plan for those weeks: budget ready to scale, ad text that matches the situation and a landing page that can handle extra enquiries. We agree this before the season starts.
Track every enquiry
Before serious spending I set up tracking for calls from ads, calls from your website and form enquiries, so we judge the campaign by real enquiries and not only clicks.
Guide
Costs without invented numbers
I will not publish a Charlotte cost per click. It depends on the service, season and competition, and a number I cannot source would only mislead you. Google Keyword Planner gives estimated ranges for your exact keywords, and I combine them with the first weeks of your account data to set a starting budget. Your ad spend goes straight to Google from your own account, and my management fee is agreed in writing before work starts.
Guide
What your landing page needs
A strong ad can still fail on a weak page. I check that the page loads quickly on a phone, shows the call or message option at the top, repeats the service the person searched for, and lists your service area and licence details. If the page needs work first, I will tell you before we scale spend. Some clients later add search engine optimisation next to their ads, and that page explains what it involves.
Guide
Working with me from India
Charlotte is 9.5 to 10.5 hours behind India depending on daylight saving, so I can review your account in my evening and have an update ready before your day starts. We use WhatsApp and email. The account stays in your name and you see every dollar spent. I am not a Charlotte agency, and I would rather say that plainly. If you work across the Carolinas and Georgia, see my Atlanta page too, and Google Ads for electricians covers the electrical side.
Checklist
Questions to ask any Google Ads expert before hiring
- Who manages the account day to day?
- Will the account be in my own name?
- How will calls and forms be tracked?
- What will the first 30 days look like?
- What happens to my data if we stop working together?
- Be careful with anyone promising a fixed number of leads or the top position
